This is useful info that some people may be new to.
Allow me to elaborate.
While holding the end of the film to prevent it from
being pulled completely into the super 8 cartridge,
force the centre core backwards (with needle-nose
pliers or something) to break the internal catch. You
can then draw the film out (by hand, or rewinder onto
a reel) through the gate of the cartridge.
I've never tried this because I can't believe what
everyone says - "it doesn't scratch". Don't you even
have to hold the pressure plate down?
