10 days until FLEXFEST deadline

All,

Just a quick post-holiday note to remind you that the postmark deadline for
FLEX, the Florida Experimental Film/Video Festival, is just 10 days away.
Note too that there is no entry fee for international entries or FLEX alums
(and just a $10 entry fee for the rest of you). If you have some prejudice
against Florida & think that no good experimental film festival could ever
happen there, well, we're here to prove just how wrong you are.

We hope to see all of your work shortly.
Your Friends at FLEX

CALL FOR ENTRIES

FLEX, the Florida Experimental Film/Video Festival, is now accepting
submissions for the second biennial competitive festival taking place
November 2-5, 2006 in Gainesville, FL.  The exclusive focus of the festival
is on experimental short media, but we encourage artists to challenge us to
rethink what ³experimental² means.  Work may draw on documentary, animation,
avant garde, underground, or other traditions‹-or no traditions at all.
Cash and in-kind prizes will be awarded in each of 4 categories (film/video,
small/large).  This year's jurors are Craig Baldwin (Other Cinema/Artists'
Television Access), Andrea Grover (Aurora Picture Show), and Mike Plante
(Cinemad/Sundance/Cinevegas).

Entry form and guidelines available at <www.flexfest.org>.  The regular
entry deadline is July 15, but we encourage early submission.

Entry Fee:

Regular--$10 (postmark by July 15)
Late--$20 (postmark by August 1)
No entry fee for international entries or FLEX alumni.

Send entries to:

Box 12762
