Yes, we have the specs as agreed on by Sony, Panasonic etc. But all
of these derive from television, not even from advanced digital
imaging or IT.
More to the point -
I'm working in DVCPRO HD. 1080i (and can derive "p" from it). (film
transferred to).
It's good, but it's fragile. It's not even "16mm" yet, maybe it's
"super 8."
But I'm personally interested in cinema, manifestations of cinema,
not big TV. (Although as I said before, there's a certain amount of
legacy from television practice that is "useful" in that the workflow
exists, it's affordable). The problem is, film set the bar really high.
