The original post asked not just for films that employ actual home movie
footage, but also diary films and other forms that deal with the quotidian
in visual terms. Mekas and Pincus were clearly exemplars of what Andy had
in mind. Cohen, McElwee and others are clearly in _that_ tradition. I
don't think anyone was trying to conflate these with home movies, but
rather Andy has a broader brief that encompases several things, perhaps to
compare them, but also to contrast....
