Perhaps if you had explained your mission when you posted the call
for entries, people would have been less cynical.
Face it, there are many venues to be cynical about. And outside of
festivals, most places with screening series do
not charge filmmakers for the privilege of having their work
considered. To many of us here, that's a major red flag.
