Don't most festivals offer prizes? I suppose a festival that didn't pay
rental fees, or offer prizes, would probably charge entry fees, if they
had to have them to survive. I wasn't offering a hard and fast rule, by
any means, merely suggesting that different relationships produce
different expectations. When I said my explanation was inadequate, I
meant that it justified nothing, just offered an explanation of how the
different expectations may have come to be.
