Cari - i'm not sure how i am projecting hate, there appeared to be a
discussion about it in previous posts. i'll take you up on that
therapist, thanks for the heads up about my psychological state.
Freya - i am not angry or upset by you (or anybody here), i am just
wary of creating icons and projecting too much onto one person, i
think it becomes counter productive.
of course you are right that you shouldn't have a problem with being
self-indulgent (perhaps a poor choice of words in my original post),
and yes i can understand that following a member of the experimental
film community dying in a horrible way it is a legitimate response,
but i am wary of projecting too much onto one person or reading too
much into one pointless and tragic act.
i don't want to dwell on the politics of the USA particularly but my
point about N.O and crime was that neither political party actually
stopped the poverty and the cycles of violence related to it so that
simply hating the current government is fairly pointless.
as Saul observed my closing comment was actually more therapy-speak
than the rest of my post, my point was that ultimately our response
to these situations is what matters, and for me drawing an example
from somebody's life always made sense.
