I would consider some of Luis Recoder's work. I don't know if he has
ever considered the possibility of some of his more performative work
screening without his presence (Glass: Liquid Light, in which water is
sprayed on the booth glass to while projecting white light from the
projector certainly comes to mind), but they could possibly exist as a
set of instructions.
