I just posted 2 short essay films online at mattpeterson.blip.tv
MY TORONTO
9 minutes, 30 seconds. Stills.
Ethnographic documentary diary essay city portrait film. On Toronto and its 2007 film festival.
CAT WATCHING A FILM
4 minutes, 30 seconds. DV.
Documentary epistolary essay film.
I welcome your feedback (off list?). (I apologize if this is
listserv spam, but these were commissioned and/or designed for online
distribution - you know how it is).
Anyway, I'm not sure if I've ever properly introduced myself here, but I work as the archivist to Daniel Talbot and New Yorker Films, and also as a freelance film critic here in NYC. I studied at the New School for Social Research, and was/am working on a book of interviews, ON POLITICAL FILM. I'll soon be submitting to festivals my 3rd essay film, SEPTEMBER, which'll run around 25-minutes and have some sync-sound sections (unlike the above). It is about Ground Zero and America's relationship to the atomic bomb.
