Friends,
Boris Lehman, the prolific Brussels filmmaker, has run into a wall.
He has 8 new films, edited and ready to screen around the world, but
he needs to do a sound mix. He always works with Arri and Nagra and
Steenbeck and builds up his soundtracks on separate mags, mixes them
down onto one mag, makes an optical and prints. But since the last
film he completed two years ago, all the sound studios closed, or got
rid of their 16mm equipment, or turned digital. He is now quite
desperate, and a little furious, that only two places in Europe have
this equipment - the Fresnoy school, and Jean-Luc Godard - and they
are not easy to access. He does not want to digitize everything just
for the mix. Does anybody know anywhere in or near Europe where he
could go? He only needs a week to ten days to mix these eight films;
then there is a new batch on the way.
