1. Satantango on DVD - even on the less than stellar Facets DVD and even on
a computer screen - is still an absolutely astonishing life-changing
cinematic experience, though I certainly understand the arguments that the
cat scene is more upsetting on video which can throw that section of the
film off balance.
2. Heck, scenes from Satantango on You Tube provided life changing
experiences for more than one person I know who had never had a chance to
see the actual film. Which says more about cultural hunger for
transformative cinema than it does about You Tube.

3. Satantango is political.

4. Satantango's political dynamics could be the start of a fascinating
discussion on art and politics, political psychology, the changing political
dynamics of the US, the impact of same of the rest of the world.

5. But it won't happen here.

6. That's a shame.

Sick of artistic ideologies of all kinds at least for the moment ,
