Perhaps you could stick a strip of your magstock to the edge of a hand made
film (like a DIY sound stripe) and make sound that way - if you can get
something recorded onto it. Or just record directly onto the edge of scratch
film. lots of projectors will read a magnetic track on the film (i wonder if
there are single band projectors that record, like super 8 projectors do?)-
not one for S16 of course.

PS we got our Bauer machine from a college that doesn't use film anymore. I
suppose they were useful in that context because they are very versatile and
are a compact way of doing work that would otherwise take several large
machines. Maybe you can find one on a shelf in a film coop somewhere.
Although it's beautiful it's a brutal menace to use.
