I carried about that amount 5 years ago on a trip to Vietnam, I
didn't visit other countries altho did transit Singapore both ways.
The only issue I had was X-rays, I managed to get hand inspections
everywhere except the last of 3 machines I had to encounter exiting
Tan Son Nhut airport Saigon/HCM. (be polite, smile, say please, say
professional film, etc.)
Re-entering VN from Cambodia would give me the biggest worry, I don't
say from experience but anecdotally. Thailand I have no idea.
US > Vietnam probably not much worry, Americans being rather welcome
in Vietnam these days.
