Hello,
I was in the state of Gujarat and there were about 20,000 people waiting for the 3 minute eclipse. Later many people went to the nearby river Tapi to take a dip in the water as is the tradition to "ward" off evil. It was noisy and much like a reality show not quiet and calm, being one with nature kind of thing.... well but that's India! Gujarat is a dry state - i.e no alcohol but as per tradition the rich are supposed to provide booze to the poor... I did not wait to witness that though ;-)
I did record some sounds but its mostly of people hollering at each other, laughing etc.
I think that 2017 in Kentucky, USA will be my next pit stop to view this amazing phenomena.
