I feel like this has come up before on Frameworks, hasn't it? In any
case, a good place to start would be Jill Godmilow's "What Farocki
Taught" (1998), an exact remake of Harun Farocki's "Inextinguishable
Fire" (1969). Also, Elisabeth Subrin's "Shulie" (1997) is a shot-for-
shot remake of a film of the same name from 1967. Interesting that
the dates of both these remakes and their originals line up so neatly,
isn't it?
