COMMUNITY SERVICE Founding Board Member, World Council on Media Education (Madrid, Spain). Elected to promote media education through international publication in Spanish and English. Executive Board Member, San Francisco Cinematheque, a 40-year old film arts showcase. Senior Advisor and U.S. Correspondent for the European Union's SchoolNet Media Department. Senior Advisor, Communication Allies Around the Planet, an organization of partner schools in North and South America. Advisory Board, Summit 2000 (Toronto, Canada). Provided technical assistance to international media education conference. Local arts and education advisory boards past and present: Our Media, Ourselves, a project of the Bay Area School Reform Collaborative; Mendocino High School (Mendocino, CA), John C. Fremont Media Academy (Oakland, CA); Balboa High School (San Francisco); and Berkeley High School (Communication Arts and Science Academy). Past Member, Media Commission, National Council of Teachers of English. Past Member, Telecommunications Policy Commission, San Francisco Board of Supervisors.
